As promised ...

Andrea really did an amazing job--plus she straightened it for a fab finish.

Mother of 2, what a WONDERFUL story! Such a gift to correct our own thinking by a memorable example. And kudos to you for being able to admit a shortcoming. Many people can't even get that far, let alone decide to change. Way to go!

Karis, are you out there? Did I hear that you might have a story about this past weekend, too?

I'm here, I check in every day! I think you must be referring to the story I told Chad about substituting in Kindergarten. The teacher has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a 7 year survivor of ovarian cancer so we plan on her beating this one as well. I have a teaching degree, but those of you who don't know me, which is most of you...my degree is in High School Speech and Drama...a pretty far cry from Kindergarten. Another note for those who are new to me...I don't currently teach, I am a Sales Director with Mary Kay but I saw a need at our school to have the same sub whenever the teacher was out for treatment and any days following that she might be feeling subpar and the flexibility of my schedule allowed me to step in and fill that need. But, I digress...

When school started 3 weeks ago one little girl brought in a butterfly chrysalis on a milkweek branch. The children have been watching it every day and praying for it to hatch (or whatever butterflies do). It hatched over the weekend and I subbed yesterday and they were so filled with awe at that beautiful big Monarch butterfly. I had the distinct pleasure of being with them when they took it outside to let it back into nature. It was so cool how it took flight almost as soon as we opened the lid. I honestly didn't get a great look at the kids' faces because I was watching to see where it went. It took off across the street and landed on a power line right in front of a green tree. I smiled and thought of Kyrie and how she must stand out among the angels like that bright orange Monarch did against the green leaves of the tree. Thank you for the vision of the angel butterfly as the Kyrie Foundation Logo, it couldn't be more perfect!

Hugs to you all. We will see some of you this weekend for our Relay for Life where we hope to sell the crazies out of those beautiful T-shirts.
