Thankful Thursday

Today I'm thankful for every last bit. Sometimes pennies and a few GoodSearches and bread crumbs and the last drops of shampoo and embers of a fading campfire and the final few Cheerios that you chase around the bowl get dismissed. Easy to do. Always searching for bigger & better, we Americans sometimes take for granted how big little bits can be.

Pennies turn into dollars. GoodSearches are fighting cancer. Bread crumbs make incredible fried green tomatoes. That last, ridiculous-sounding squeeze of shampoo still gets your hair clean. The warm ash of a campfire allows you to get really close and really toasty. And those Cheerios ... every one of 'em helps lower cholesterol.

So today I'm thankful for every last second, last morsel and last detail.

What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful for music today.
I had to share this with evryone here. I know we are hard at work trying to help people in so many ways and I don't know about you, but sometimes I can get discouraged by the magnitude of the needs out there. I had a moment today where I was overwhelmed with hope. Certain lines in this song made me think so much of Kyrie and this little boy that was blown off a lake Michigan pier strapped to his
stroller and sunk to the bottom of a 42 degree lake where he stayed for 15 minutes because the water was too murky to see where he was. This is the world we live in..riddled with pain and heartache. I am attaching the lyrics and then the link..I hope you will go and listen to the song and feel the power of our ultimate hope. Eternity with Jesus and our lost loved ones, like Kyrie.

Artist: Newsong
Song Title: Arise, My Love
Not a word was heard
at the tomb that day.
Just shuffling of soldiers feet
as they guarded the grave.
One day, two days,
three days had past.
Could it be that Jesus
breathed His last?

Could it be that His Father
had forsaken him?
Turned his back on his son
dispising our sin.
All hell seemed to whisper
"Just forget Him, He's dead."
Then the Father looked down
to his son and he said..

Arise, My love.
Arise, My love.
The grave no longer
has a hold on you
No more death's sting
No more suffering love.

The Earth trembled
and the tomb began to shake,
and like lightening
from Heaven the stone was rolled away.
And as dead man
the guards they all stood there in fright
As the power of love
displayed its might
Then suddenly a melody
filled the air
Riding wings of wind,
it was everywhere
The words all creation
had been longing to hear
The sweet sound of victory,
so loud and clear.

Arise, my love.
Arise, my love.
The grave no longer has a hold on you.
No more death's sting
no more suffering

Sin, where are your shackles?
Death, where is your sting?
Hell; has been defeated.
The grave could not hold the king.

Arise, My love.
Arise, My love.
The grave no longer
has a hold on you
No more death's sting
No more suffering

Wow. Thank you for sharing motherof2. I think we've all felt this kind of despair and inside-out disappointment, the feeling of emptiness when we were once full of hope. Inspiring to remember, again, that this is not the end.
