Green Good.

With today being Earth Day, it might be a good idea to think about how we can combine doing good for others with doing good with the finite resources we have been given.

Reduce. How about reducing the number of conclusions we jump to along with the number of single-serving, plastic beverage bottles?

Reuse. How about reusing old sweats for garage rags and reigniting meaningful relationships?

Recycle. How about recycling those recipes into the Kyrie Foundation cookbook?

Lots of good ways to take care of each other by way of preserving the planet. And ... perhaps there should be a Heaven Day, where we pause to note that place and all those we love there, too.

I live for those who love me,
For those who know me true,
For the Heaven that smiles above me,
And awaits my spirit too;
For the cause that lacks assistance,
For the wrong that needs resistance,
For the future in the distance,
And the good that I can do.

Meg,
I love, love, love that poem...printing it out and putting it on my office wall.

Every day each one of us can do something...some small thing that will either impact the world forever, positively or negatively. Today, I will try to drive a little less, waste a little less, say a prayer for someone who I don't know, say a prayer for someone who is unkind to me, teach my children a lesson that will stick with them for a lifetime, and tell Kyrie's story at least once!

I say we declare a "Heaven Day" of our own...if nothing else, we can celebrate it here!

Big Love,
Melissa

Our daughter came home from school ready to recycle today. It's great that people are finally seeing that there are things we can do to help the earth, our bodies etc. If you missed the Oprah show today.. you missed a good one! And about those plastic bottles if you can't eliminate them, try and recycle them.. amazing how long those things stay in the landfills!

Beautiful poem... thank you for sharing... and I will be recycling my recipes soon : )
